Let's face it, we live in a material world... and none of us are going to get out of here alive. Living a life permeated by non-greed would involve not hoarding or accumulating unnecessary things. Knowing in body, mind and spirit, that these "things" are simply tools to use in this life. Knowing that these tools end with this life.
But what about the idea of "saving for a rainy day." The point about this statement is that most people look upon a rainy day as preparing for Noah's Arc. It is using wisdom to prepare for the future, it is using greed to hoard. Accumulations tie you down to this world... whether this consists of unnecessary material things, or unnecessary thoughts. Keep it simple. When that eventful time happens and you must leave this world, the struggle to leave the "things" of this world won't be as difficult.
